Group names are automatically added when they reach a certain threshold of posting activity. A group’s name is the responsibility of the individual who created the group.  The activity that occurs within a group is the responsibility of the participants. There is no protocol either in the usenet specification or in our own infrastructure to remove a newsgroup name once it has been created.
